Dr. Berenson's
Kindergarten Adventure
- This year, one of my
goals is to help my kindergarten children begin to develop
geographical awareness. My plan involves the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown (Harper Collins, 1964) and the
help of our friends and families.
- Flat
Stanley is about a
young boy who is flattened, but is not hurt, by a falling
bookcase. His parents are assured by doctors that he is healthy,
just flat. They then decide that to make the most out of a
difficult situation, they can let Stanley have adventures by
folding him into envelopes and allowing him to travel and see the
world.
- Each child in the class
received a "Flat Stanley". Our
class sent Flat Stanley around the world. We were surprised where
