The eagle
King of the skies
Gazes at his territory below.
It spots a rabbit.
Its wings rustle in delight
As he makes a noisy dive at 90 mph.
His helpless victim stares mesmerized with terror.
He squeezes the life out of his poor victim with his needle like talons.
It feasts, protecting its meal with a wing.
The eagle
King of the skies Gazes at its territory below.
The owl flies, silent as the night.
Its large eyes spot a rat.
He dives down with speed and precision.
Long talons tightly grip its victim,
Strangling the life out of it.
Delighted, the owl carries the lifeless rat home.
Newly hatched owlets feed on the dead rat.
Then, as darkness brightens to daylight
The owls fall into the unconsciousness of dreams
Standing ever so still.
When they awake, daylight fades to darkness.
The owl flies, silent as the night.
This is a comparison of an owl's way of hunting and an eagle's way of hunting in a poetic way.
