One a long time ago there was a chief of an Indian tribe Black Falcon. The time came for the son of Black Falcon whose name was Little Falcon to become a man. He was given the responsibility of going into the forest and mountains to bring back a silver feather from a Peregrine falcon. Little Falcon was gone for many days and many nights. Finally he reached the falcon cliff. One his way up the cliff he discovered that a baby falcon had been lost from its mother and was stranded alone on a small cliff. Little Falcon could see how afraid the baby was. He rescued the baby falcon and brought it back up to his mother. The mother was so grateful that she let Little Falcon take a beautiful silver feather from her nets. Little Falcon arrived back at the village with the silver feather and with the mother falcon resting on his shoulder. The whole tribe came to see. They had a big feast and celebration. Many years have come and gone but the tribesmen still tell the legend of the silver feather.
